At that sensitive juncture of history, the students from various political spectrums had put their trust and faith in the great Imam and they were becoming united under his wise leadership.
The students had also found all qualities of a spiritual, religious and political leader in Imam’s personality who could relieve them from clutches of the colonial powers and prevent them from falling into pits of social and moral decline.
Student Day is the martyrdom anniversary of several students of Tehran University on December 7, 1953 (16 Azar 1332 in the Iranian calendar) by agents of colonial powers in the Pahlavi era.
The innocent students were killed when the brutal forces of Shah Regime opened live ammunition on the students of University of Tehran during a protest rally and strike. The protests and strike came in response to the resumption of Shah Regime’s relations with some colonial powers, following the coup d'état of 1953.
The Iranian nation never forgot the sacrifices offered by the students and they continued their struggle which proved fruitful later years. Despite all crackdowns by the Pahlavi Regime and staunch opposition by the world colonial powers, the Islamic Revolution gained victory under the wise leadership of Imam in 1979.
Imam founded an Islamic-democratic system which strengthened the Islamic and oppressed nations around the globe and brought prosperity for the Iranian nation.
