Seyyed Mohammad Hassan Abu Torabi Fard said that the Iranian masses cemented their unity under the flag of Imam's leadership and remained at the forefront of the imposed war to defend their country.
The deputy speaker of the parliament went onto say that the Iranian nation firmly stood against the hostilities of global arrogance by relying on the God the Almighty and their religious faith.
All vicious and nasty global powers had come around together against the truthful Iranian nation to harm the revolution and the divine Islamic system, he noted.
The senior official concluded that the people and masses actively stood against the enemies' conspiracies under unprecedented rational, wise and attractive leadership of the great imam.
The imposed war began in 1980, a year after the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution, when Iraq, supported by global world powers, invaded Iran by launching aerial and ground incursions into Iranian territories.
The war drew to a close in August 1988, when Iran, in compliance with international laws, accepted the Resolution 598 of UN Security Council as the conflict had already claimed many innocent lives.
The founder of the Islamic Republic said he considers acceptance of the resolution as a move in the interest of the revolution and the system.
