He maintained that the auspicious birthday anniversary of divine savior is a feast of humanity since Mahdi (PBUH) will guide all the human beings; He will wipe out truculence and tyranny from the face of earth.
Imam Khomeini on several occasions through his historic speeches and messages maintained that the belief was not merely restricted to Muslims, but followers of all divine religions have firm faith in emergence of a divine savior.
The late founder of the Islamic Republic stated that the emergence of divine savior would relieve societies from all types of deviations, and social and moral decline.
Imam Khomeini highlighted significance of the 15th Sha'ban, the birthday anniversary of Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi (PBUH), an ultimate savior of humankind and the 12th in the line of imams who were descendants of the prophet Mohammed (PBUH), and described the event as the most significant Eid for believers and the entire humanity.
Hadrat Hujjah, who is from the progeny and descendant of Fatima Zahra, the daughter of the holy prophet of Islam (peace be upon them), will be flag-bearer of justice and confront all exploiting and arrogant elements and powers.
According to Imam Khomeini and other Muslim world scholars, the savior form the progeny of the holy prophet of Islam would relieve the world from clutches of cruelty, injustice and inequality, and maintain good governance, and establish a massive justice system.
Since the divine savior is assigned with divine duty of guiding all the human beings, it is a feast for the entire mankind.
Imam Khomeini, the great leader of the contemporary Muslim world, once said: "I am hopeful that the certain day will approach when the promise of God will come true and the oppressed will become inheritors of the earth.”
Imam Khomeini on other occasions in this regard said as following:
The Promised Mahdī (may Allah expedite his glorious advent) is the essence of the creation, the inheritor of the prophet hood and the Master of the Age. (Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.9, page 24)
Abraham, the Friend of God, at the beginning of time and the beloved one of God and his offspring the Promised Mahdī (May our souls be sacrificed for him) at the end of time, proclaimed and will proclaim monotheism…(Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.18, page 77)
The promised Mahdī, as put by religions and unanimously accepted by Muslims, will proclaim from Ka‘bah, calling mankind to monotheism. (Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.18, page 77)
The issue of the disappearance of the Imām Mahdi is a great matter that makes us to understand “Real justice should be spread in the world in its true sense.” ( Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.12, page 408)
