This comes as Iranians are preparing for International Quds Day rallies to show their solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians,
Several state officials and major bodies have called for a high turnout in nationwide events.
Meanwhile, President Hassan Rouhani has urged Iranian and world Muslims to stage a more unified presence at the rallies this year.
President Rouhani stressed that this year’s rallies were deserving of note, given that the Israeli regime had tried to make the world forget its aggression against the Palestinians through backchannel efforts and by attempting to create conflicts among regional Muslims.
Several Iranian organizations and institutions also released statements calling for massive participation in the rallies.
Back in 1979, Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day.
Millions of pro-Palestinian demonstrator’s across various parts of the world stage rallies to highlight plight of the Palestinian people and commemorate the Palestinian people’s struggles to liberate their territories which have been occupied by Israel for decades.
International Quds Day is seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
