A mass festival in memorial of martyr artists has been held in an art center of the Iranian capital, Tehran.
The festival was held in one of the famous art galleries of Tehran and was attended by martyrs’ families, intellectuals, academics and people from various walks of life.
Nearly 2000 pictures of those martyrs, who used to show great interests in art work during their lifetime, were exhibited at the festival.
It is worth to mention that several artists who were part of volunteers and mobilization forces were killed during the Iraq imposed war on Iran in 1980s.
The then Iraqi dictator Saddam launched a lengthy war against Iran with the help of countries such as Saudi Arabia and some Western exploiting and colonial powers against Iran.
The Iranian volunteers and mobilization forces along armed forces defended the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Iran under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini managed to confront Saddam and his colonial backers.
Iranian people displayed unprecedented unity during the eight-year war.
Imam Khomeini used to attach a great signifcane to protecting legacy of martyers of the Islamic Revolution and the imposed war.
