According to the Public Relations Office of the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini’s Works, a ceremony titled “Honoring Scholarship and Islamic Jurisprudence” was held in the holy city of Najaf to commemorate the scholarly contributions of Ayatollah Seyyed Mostafa Khomeini (may he rest in peace). The ceremony was attended by Hojatoleslam Dr. Ali Komsari, head of the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini’s Works.

According to Imam, thankfulness is natural to human beings, and our very nature calls upon us to express gratitude to our benefactors. If we examine the book of our own hearts, we will find this principle inscribed within us. Our sense of respect and gratitude toward a benefactor increases in proportion to the generosity of the benefits we receive, particularly when that generosity is free from selfish motives. The greater the selflessness of the benefactor, the greater our sense of gratitude should be.
