“Gaza is in a suffocating and terrible predicament. The Arab and Muslim world is facing a relentless and vicious onslaught from arrogant and oppressive Zionist and American fanatics,” Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim said in a post published on the social media platform X on Saturday.

He criticized the performance of some Arab and Muslim governments, stating they are complicit in Israeli crimes in Gaza, as they are providing the Tel Aviv regime with enormous resources, confronting resistance forces within their own nations, and fighting Islam in the most ruthless manner possible.

Israeli airstrikes kill dozens in Gaza City as humanitarian crisis deepens

“The silence and complicity of such governments will only lead to the prolongation of the suffering of the Palestinian people, and the deepening of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” Ayatollah Qassim emphasized.

At least 65,208 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed and another 166,271 individuals have been wounded in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip.

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its war on the besieged coastal territory.
